As another reviewer wrote, it does not sit off the shoulder as shown in the photo but rather directly on it. This was fine with me as at least I can wear a normal bra with it. The bust was the right size, but there were side darts that needed to be brought in with alterations - since the dress is not lined it was a quick and cheap fix. The rest of the dress fits wonderfully and I look forward to spinning around the dance floor at my event! I got it with the crinoline and it adds the best sounding rustle and just a little bit of oomph, but the dress itself has its own body so you can do without if need be.

I ordered this dress for a special occasion business dinner with my husband's company...I needed it FAST, and I needed it to FIT! Not only did they get it to me before I needed it...but it fits like a glove! It is true to size. I feel like I just walked off a movie set from the '50s. I was concerned that the bodice would be too roomy, as my "girls" are a bit on the skinny side, but the sizing is perfect. The petticoat is a MUST. This dress is perfect for any event.

Love love love this dress! You have to wear it with the crinoline petty coat! Otherwise the dress looks to flat and the gathers make you look "thick" around the waist. I got so many compliments when I wore this dress to a wedding that I officiated.

First off, I ordered this according to my hip measurements, it was entirely too large up top, and I had to take it to a seamstress. I was also disappointed that the straps sit more on top of the shoulder, and not as off shoulder as the picture shows. My seamstress could not alter it that much. On top of that, she said one dart was a half inch lower than the other, so that created some issues with fit. The scallop does not lay flat, but puckers oddly. I didn't have her fix this as the dress was already $42 to get taken in at the sides, and I paid $125 for it, so it ended up being a $160 gown. It does not lay nicely without the crinoline. There is too much fabric so it looks really bulky, so I suggest you buy a crinoline to go with it. With all that, it's very heavy duty fabric. But it's just plain cotton, doesn't have any nice sheen to it. So, while it's cute, I also am really disappointed in this dress because it's not quite as pictured.
