BEST SELLER! 1950s Style Black Cotton Sateen Scallop Brenda Swing Dress

First off, I ordered this according to my hip measurements, it was entirely too large up top, and I had to take it to a seamstress. I was also disappointed that the straps sit more on top of the shoulder, and not as off shoulder as the picture shows. My seamstress could not alter it that much. On top of that, she said one dart was a half inch lower than the other, so that created some issues with fit. The scallop does not lay flat, but puckers oddly. I didn't have her fix this as the dress was already $42 to get taken in at the sides, and I paid $125 for it, so it ended up being a $160 gown.

It does not lay nicely without the crinoline. There is too much fabric so it looks really bulky, so I suggest you buy a crinoline to go with it.

With all that, it's very heavy duty fabric. But it's just plain cotton, doesn't have any nice sheen to it. So, while it's cute, I also am really disappointed in this dress because it's not quite as pictured.
