If you don't buy this skirt, you're nuts. The previous reviewer is pretty spot on with her description on quality, care, size, and fit. I'd like to add that the waistband has a touch of ruching, so if you're inclined to wear a crop top, that's a nice little detail you might want to show off. I wore my skirt with a simple black peplum top, a black straw floppy hat, black satin kitten heels, and a light gray bolero. I'm kicking myself for not getting the matching Sputnik Cardigan, also available. The skirt is on final sale right now, so if your size isn't available or Unique Vintage is sold out, why not get the Sputnik Dress? :) http://www.unique-vintage.com/black-sparkle-sputnik-lyla-flare-dress.html When I wore this to work, very woman in my office was jealous. Bam. Company fashion icon. My work here is done.

I am SO in love with this skirt. It looks far better in real life than it does in the pix! It's easily lightweight enough to wear in summer, but I bought this for our upcoming New Year's Eve, along with the Pink Knee Length Tulle Petticoat Crinoline (http://www.unique-vintage.com/pink-knee-length-tulle-petticoat-crinoline-sku-37497.html) that also looks *far* better than in the photo. I noted the length of both the skirt and the petticoat and decided they would work well together, and bow howdy, do they ever! The petticoat is a slightly brighter pink than in the photo and is THE perfect fit under this skirt. This skirt has a flat waistband that is accented by two horizontal flat pleats (hope that makes sense, it's hard to see in the photos), and looks much less "puckered" than in the photos (actually, it is not at all puckered). There is some stretch to the waistband -- the part of the waistband below the flat black part has the most stretch -- so the size description for this piece really is spot-on. I usually wear a 10 or sometimes a 12 in skirts (if there was such a thing as an 11 that would be just right), but don't be put off by the description of this skirt as an XL (there's no way an 8/10 is XL); the waist measurements of 32-35 are, of course, nowhere near an XL. Also, I would say anyone under a 32" waist might find this ever so slightly loose, because while I'm a 35" waist, that's with sucking it in, so this skirt could go from 32" up to 36" at least. When it arrived, I immediately tried it on over my jeans and T-shirt and barely sucked my tummy in. I plan to wear a body-shaper with this, so the waist on it really is a bit more flexible than you might think. If you're a 36"/37"/maybe even a 38" and can either suck it in comfortably or wear a foundation garment, you might not want to order past the XL. But I guess a little bit loose is better than a little too tight, because a belt can always help to disguise a too-loose waistband. A belt can disguise a too-tight waistband, too, but who wants to be that uncomfortable? All that being said, I'm more than happy with this skirt. If you don't want to have it dry-cleaned I'd recommend a very gentle hand-washing in the sink with lukewarm water, then hanging it up to dry. The sequins that line the bottom edge will need very gentle care for cleaning. I used a not-too-hot iron on the waistband pleats and on a few slightly wrinkled spots on the skirt (it was remarkably un-wrinkled when it arrived) and it worked very well. A steamer set on low would likely work even better. I don't think anyone would regret buying this skirt, and that's coming from someone who has a hella time buying clothes online and in a store. Go for it, darlings!
