Name: Miss Andrea Holliday

From: Birmingham, AL

Bio: I guess you could say my infatuation with pinups started after I first saw the movie “Cry-Baby”. I loved the clothes, I loved the music, and Johnny Depp was a total dreamboat. I then discovered my love for Gil Elvgren and his adorable situational pinups. Not long after that, I started collecting vintage Halloween pinup prints and magazine tear-outs. Once I finally found a pinup photographer in my area and took my first photos, I was hooked!

As a girl more suited to be Miss October than Miss April, I hold a special place in my heart for Halloween and all things spooky. I can’t even do a normal summer photo shoot without dragging my skeletons out of the closet. Holidays have influenced every pinup shoot I’ve done to date. So far I’ve done Christmas, Halloween, Independence Day, and Valentine’s Day. I’d really like to do Thanksgiving, Easter, and Dia de los Muertos next.

I’m also a bit of a movie nerd. I snuck a Ghostbusters reference into my Christmas photos last year and I brought a shark fin prop to a “bathing beauties” shoot as a tribute to my favorite great white terror.  (I hope to do a real Jaws-themed photo shoot one day!) I love the Cheesecake genre of pinup the most because I feel like it fits my personality. With Cheesecake pinup, you can show off your sense of humor and turn an innocent situation into something sexy and flirty with something as simple as a facial expression. I’ve found it to be a great way to have fun and express myself.

Ambitions: Too many to name! I have wanted to work for The Walt Disney Company my entire life. I’m currently pursuing a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and I would love to move down to Orlando and work in some aspect of event, resort, or theme park management at the Walt Disney World resort.

Favorite Vintage Accessory: Hair flowers. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not particularly gifted in the hair-styling department, so big flowers are great when I need to hide a horrendous mistake. Plus, they can really help pull a look together!

Favorite Pinup Icon: I’d say it’s a tie between Marilyn Monroe and Elvira.
