Whether you live in California or Louisiana, today is the day to enjoy a little Southern hospitality at its best; May 30th is National Mint Julep Day, an annual “holiday” created solely to celebrate one of America’s most beloved beverages. Ahem, I’ll drink to that.

Made with just a few simple ingredients-fresh mint, water, sugar and bourbon whiskey (if you’re of age)-mint juleps are synonymous with the Kentucky Derby and perfect for sipping on a hot, sunny day. Here’s to donning your best big-brimmed hat while mixing up a pitcher of juleps. Cheers!
