I pride myself on being quite the risk taker when it comes to beauty trends. Currently, I am sporting the “paint one nail a completely different color than the rest” fad, which I absolutely LOVE. I have done the cat-eye liner, the the super P-I-N-K blush, as well as the feather hair extensions. But one look I am absolutely terrified of is the red lip. This is such a classic look and can be used in a very modern way to add a pop of fun to your face, as well as a nod to the fabulous Marilyn Monroe days with the right accessories or hair style.

I have tried to figure out where my red lipstick fear comes from and I think it’s simply because I do not want to look silly by wearing the wrong shade. Since I don’t think I am the only one who wants to try this look, I researched some tips to help us all find our true shade of red lip:

-Fair Skin: wear coral-red lipstick – this color won’t be as overpowering on your delicate skin!

-Medium Skin: with your golden tone you can really do just about anything, lucky you! Bright red, cranberry or even the electric pink are your best bets!

-Dark Skin: the deeper the better baby! Burgundy is your perfect shade!
