Hello everyone! Rachel from Chicago Chic here, honored to be back for the Style Society with another guest post! I have to say the #iamunique campaign has really encouraged me to think a lot about what it means to embrace “uniqueness.” You might remember when I shared my thoughts on being a modern day pinup, and the self assurance this requires in today’s society. Taking it a step further, I’ve lately been feeling it’s so important to not try to be a replica of any specific person from the past or present that I admire. I sometimes see vintage lovers trying to encourage others to view them as Marilyn, Mansfield, Dita, etc. by repeatedly copying exact photos of these icons from the past, and I realized that I never really want to do this.
Today we’re so excited to share a fabulous OOTD from #iamunique Style Society blogger Kristina from Twee Valley High. We’re head over heels for Kristina’s classic little black dress complemented with quirky pink and white details. Scroll through and let Kristina tell you about her seasonally sweet Valentine’s Day ensemble inspiration:
I’m Rachel from Chicago Chic and I’m so honored to be one of the Style Society members for the #iamunique campaign, and among such amazing ladies! As I shared on my blog, Robin Williams was quoted saying, “You’re only given a little spark of madness. You musn’t lost it.” This “madness” can sometimes turn into brilliance, creativity, and perhaps a great accomplishment… and it’s always the essential ingredient of our own unique traits. To kick off the launch of this campaign and celebration of uniqueness, I’m excited to share my personal favorite items for January…
We recently launched our #iamunique campaign that’s all about celebrating our unique and diverse UV Darlings. To celebrate our campaign kick-off, we threw a swinging soiree at our Burbank, CA store that was complete with a DJ, divine cocktails, giveaways, and of course many of our delightful UV Darlings!
